Providing services to keep our staff and students healthy, safe and learning
Each day our licensed school nurses and health services staff provide a variety of proactive and reactive services to help ensure our students and staff are ready to learn. From managing health conditions and administering medications to providing health education, preventing illness and creating a safe and healthy school environment, we are here to support each person's health.

Illness and Attendance
Please keep your child home if they have any of the following:
- Vomiting within the last 24 hours
- Diarrhea within the last 24 hours
- Fever of 100 degrees Fahrenheit or higher in the last 24 hours
- Rash of unknown origin
Students may not return to school until they are free from the above symptoms (vomiting, diarrhea, fever) for 24 hours, without fever reducing medications. Call your school's attendance line, below, every day your child is staying home and state the child's teacher, grade and specific reason for their absence.
Immunizations
All students in Spring Lake Park Schools must comply with Minnesota Immunization Laws. All immunizations need to be up-to-date, prior to the start of the school year. An immunization form is available from the health office or click here for a copy of the immunization form. Students will be excluded from school as of November 1 if proof of immunizations or exemptions are not on file with the school.
Exemptions to school immunization laws include medical and conscientious exemptions.

Nut Aware Classrooms
There are many students in the Spring Lake Park schools who have severe allergies to tree nuts, peanuts, peanut butter, and/or products that contain nuts. Accidental ingestion or even touching a tiny trace of a nut may cause a potential fatal reaction for some students.
We need your help in supporting the following guidelines to make our classroom peanut/nut aware and to prevent potential allergic reactions:
- Please do not send any snacks with your student which contain nuts, peanuts, peanut butter or other nut products.
- If your child packs a lunch containing tree nuts, peanuts, peanut butter or other nut products, it must stay in a sealed container while being kept in the classroom.
- Students will be permitted to bring nut products as part of their lunch, as students with allergies sit at a separate table where there is adult supervision of food products.
- Nut aware tables will be clearly labeled in lunch rooms for students with allergies.
