Activities and Athletics

Students in grades 5-8 can engage in a variety of opportunities outside of the school day. Experiences with activities and clubs and athletics promote exploration, teamwork, skill development and good sportsmanship. We hope students discover interests and passions and are inspired to engage in life-long participation in activities they enjoy as they positively represent our school and community.

Athletics

Activities

The following activities are offered annually for Westwood Intermediate and Middle School students that offer physical activity, academic enrichment and creative expression.

In addition to what's listed here, there are also a variety of enrichment offerings that may be offered through outside vendors throughout the year. Offerings may include: archery, mini soccer, STEM and more. They are offered through Community Education.

Activity Buses

Activity buses are provided for students who are staying after school for extra help in classes and for extracurricular activities.

Activity buses run daily and arrive at Westwood by 4:45 p.m. and drop students off at their regular stop. Any student who lives in the district can ride, no registration is needed. Students give their address to the driver and the driver directs them to the correct bus they should ride.

For 7/8 student-athletes who play on a high school team, there is a bus that brings students from Westwood to Spring Lake Park High School at 2:30 p.m.

For more information, contact Westwood at 763-600-5300.
