Discover Westwood

Westwood Intermediate and Middle School is dedicated to guiding students in grades 5-8 through their educational journey that prepares them for career and college readiness.

We work each day to challenge and inspire your child in an active learning environment full of high energy.

Westwood offers two educational programs under one roof. Our classrooms for grades 5-6 students are on one end of the building and grades 7-8 classrooms on the other side of the building. We also have different transportation routes and start and end time for grades 5-6 and 7-8, which allows for more flexibility for our students.

Our program for students in grades 5-6 and focuses on creating a learning environment that encourages Cooperation, Assertion, Responsibility, Empathy and Self-Control (C.A.R.E.S) skills as well as active learning through STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) projects. When students advance into middle school, they are excited and prepared for the academic and emotional challenges ahead and appreciative for the strong educational foundation they received in intermediate school.

Westwood Middle School serves grades 7-8 and is designed to meet the unique needs of early adolescent students. Students are assigned to an advisory by grade level, which focuses on the needs of individual students. We offer a variety of classes from honors courses, targeted classes for extra support, rigorous level courses to ensure college readiness as well as co-curricular programs in athletics, academics and the fine arts.

Our staff at Westwood Intermediate and Middle School foster a strong sense of community and acceptance and strives each day to meet the needs of individual learners. Westwood Intermediate and Middle School teachers use technology to accelerate and ignite learning and our students are in flexible learning environments, allowing them to work on the academic and life skills needed to be successful.
