Students that previously created a personal Apple ID using their MyPanthers email address will need to migrate the account to a personal email address. Apple will send an email to the personal Apple ID that is using @mypanthers.org with instructions on how to move it to a personal email address (such as @gmail.com or @yahoo.com). Please check your Junk Mail folder for this email.
Students will have until March 16, 2021 to move to a personal email address. If a personal Apple ID is not moved off of an @mypanthers.org email, Apple will change it to a "@temporary.appleid.com" email.
When the @mypanthers.org email is changed to a personal email address, the school "reclaims" the @mypanthers.org email to use for your school Managed Apple ID.
Once a personal Apple ID is changed to a personal email address, students will be able to use their MyPanthers account to log into their Managed Apple ID. The Managed Apple ID has 200 Gb. of storage for backing up iPads, unlike personal Apple IDs which only have 5 Gb. of storage. The personal Apple ID still has access to any previous apps, documents, or purchases made on that Apple ID. Students cannot transfer any apps or purchases from a personal Apple ID to a school Managed Apple ID.
If a student has any questions about moving a personal Apple ID to a new email address, contact Technology Services at techsupport@district16.org.
