Spring Lake Park Schools held its annual retirement reception on May 15 to honor and recognize the 11 staff members who retired during the 2017-2018 school year or are retiring at the end of the school year.
Northpoint Elementary teacher Samantha Howard and Westwood Middle School teacher Cora Becker were selected as the 2018 Spring Lake Park Teachers United, Teachers of the Year winners.
Spring Lake Park High School senior Jessica Figueroa has been selected to receive the Gateway Scholarship from the University of Minnesota. This scholarship is worth up to $50,000 over four years, beginning in fall 2018.

Three Spring Lake Park High School seniors enrolled in a German 4/University of Minnesota College in the Schools (CIS) Intermediate German 1004 course won two awards for a video contest they entered through the U of M CIS program.
