Why I'm #SLPPantherProud - Paula Lanoue
Westwood Intermediate School
Instructional Paraprofessional/Academic Specialist
How long have you worked in Spring Lake Park Schools?
Why did you choose to join Spring Lake Park Schools?
I started as a parent of students in the district, felt welcomed, and moved forward with academic and non-academic support through volunteership. This led to feeling that this was a place that valued students, community, and staff. I felt this was a system I would be proud to work in and contribute to its mission.
What's the best part of your day, as an employee of Spring Lake Park Schools?
The best part of the day is working with such a variety of students and passionate staff that believe that together, we can make a difference. I love that we focus on meeting the needs, at whatever level, of every one of our students.
What do you do when you're not at work?
I am a big outdoor activity enthusiast, including, but definitely not limited to: hiking, biking, camping, water/snow-related activities, and gardening. I also love to read and volunteer for service-related issues.
What makes you #SLPPantherProud?
I am proud of the fact that this community works together to make everyone feel welcomed and valued every day. I am proud that we reach out to parents and other members of the bigger community of Fridley, Spring Lake Park, and Blaine to let them know that they are a part of this educational system. WE is truly the way we approach making every student successful!
