Welcome to preschool, the first step in your child’s educational journey in Spring Lake Park Schools. The goal of preschool is to ensure children enter school with the skills and behaviors necessary to be successful in future learning. We will partner with you to create an experience that meets your child’s individual needs and interests.

Preschool Locations

We offer four Preschool locations in Spring Lake Park Schools. 

Centerview Elementary School

Preschool Class Options

REGISTRATION FOR THE 2024-25 SCHOOL YEAR OPENS ONLINE ON 3/1/24 AT 8:30 A.M.

Spring Lake Park Schools offers 3- and 4-year-old preschool programs that run from September through May. Read the descriptions of our four preschool formats below to see what program would work best for you and your family.

New this year - class lottery system: Due to limited space in some of our classes, a lottery system may be used. To be considered for the lottery drawing, please complete your registration (including bringing in all the required documents) by April 1. All registrations will be put on a waitlist. Any class that has more registrations than openings will be placed into a random lottery drawing.

Confirmation emails will be sent out after April 1.

Preschool Registration

Registration for the 2024-25 school year will open online on 3/1 at 8:30 a.m.

Classes run September 2024-May 2025. Children must be at least 3 years old by September 1, 2024 in order to be eligible for 2024-2025 preschool.

All registrations are placed on a “wait list” until all required documents are verified by the office.  Enrollment into classes will start after our 4/1 priority deadline. If you would like more information about a preschool class, please call the Early Childhood Office at 763-600-5900. All registration is done through our website. For reduced tuition information click on the Sliding Fee Scale tab below.

To be considered for Priority enrollment, you must complete the registration and bring in all required documents prior to the 4/1 deadline

We are offering Preschool classes in each of the elementary schools (Centerview, Park Terrace, Northpoint, and Woodcrest Spanish Immersion). Click here to see what neighborhood school your child will attend.

If you are interested in reduced tuition, please refer to the Sliding Fee Scale tab to verify eligibility. You will need to refer to this chart when registering online and provide required documentation.

Answer online questionnaires as a part of the online registration process
The MN Department of Education requires additional family information. You will need to complete the questions while registering.

To complete preschool registration
Once you complete the online registration you will be put on a “Wait List”.  Required documents must be provided as listed below and eligibility will be determined after the 4/1 priority deadline.

The following documents must also be provided:

  • Your child's original certified Birth Certificate (with state seal) must be brought in person to the District Service Center (see below for the address).
  • Child's most recent Immunization records.
  • Verification of address.  
  • Supporting documentation to match the financial qualifier chosen during registration if you are applying for free or reduced (sliding fee) tuition.

Ways to provide documentation:

  • Drop-off at the District Service Center (1415 81st Ave NE, Spring Lake Park) M-F,  8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. (all documents)
  • Send via email: Earlychildhood@district16.org (except BC, must be in person)
  • Send via fax to: 763-600-5913 (except BC, must be in person)

Enrollment into the classes will begin after the 4/1 priority deadline.
You will receive a confirmation email once the enrollment has been processed.
