School Board Elections to be held this November

On Tuesday, November 5, 2019, voters will elect three residents to serve on the seven-member school board of Spring Lake Park Schools, serving Blaine, Fridley and Spring Lake Park. These seats are currently held by Jim Amundson, Tony Easter and Amy Hennen.

iPad Protection Plan options available to families for district-issued iPads

All grades 4-12 students in Spring Lake Park Schools will be provided an iPad for use in the classroom and to take home. For the 2019-2020 school year, the cost of the iPad Protection Plan will be $10 per student, with a deductible to cover damage to the iPad or if it is lost or stolen.

Panthers name Addison DeBoer as new head boys’ hockey coach

Will Wackman, Spring Lake Park High School (SLPHS) Director of Athletics and Activities, is excited to announce Addison DeBoer as the new boys’ hockey coach. DeBoer’s is a 2006 graduate of SLPHS and went on to play four years at Colorado College and two years on several minor league hockey teams.

Life Skills Transitions celebrate student success and six graduates

Students, families and staff gathered to celebrate the Spring Lake Park Schools’ Life Skills Transitions students at an end of the year celebration on Wednesday, June 5. Students were honored for their hard work throughout the year and six graduating students were presented with their diplomas.

Free meals available at Park Terrace and Westwood this summer

Spring Lake Park Schools will once again participate in the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Summer Food Service Program. Breakfast and lunch will be provided at no cost to all children ages 1-18 at Park Terrace Elementary School and Westwood Intermediate and Middle School.

App offers free summer meals to Minnesota kids

Hunger Impact Partners, a non-profit organization with the Minnesota Department of Education that promotes free healthy summer meals for kids across the state, is encouraging students and families to download the Summer Eats Minnesota mobile app.
