Absenteeism reports coming to mailboxes, partnership leads to greater attendance

Last fall, Spring Lake Park Schools partnered with InClass Today, an organization that has proven success in reducing chronic absenteeism in other school districts across the country. Again this year, students in grades 6-12 who fall into our chronic absenteeism criteria will receive an absence report in the mail. These reports will be sent beginning Friday, November 29.

November 5, 2019 School Board Election Results

Three Spring Lake Park School Board seats were on the Tuesday, November 5 General Election ballot. The two incumbents running, Amy Hennen and Tony Easter, have been reelected to the school board, and Sarah Bowe of Blaine, joins the board as its newest member.

Election results: Levies renewed, board members elected

Both school levies — the Levy for Learning and the Capital Projects levy — received voter approval for another 10 years with 80 percent support from the community. School funding levels, as well as local tax levels, remain the same.

School Board Election is on Tuesday, November 5

On Tuesday, November 5, 2019, voters will elect three residents to serve on the seven-member School Board of Spring Lake Park Schools, serving Blaine, Fridley and Spring Lake Park. Each will serve a four-year term beginning in January 2020.

Reports from 2019 MCA and ACCESS assessments sent on October 11

On Friday, October 11, families should have received an email from Spring Lake Park Schools Assessment, which included their child’s Individual Student Report (ISR) of scores from when they took the 2019 Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment (MCA) and/or ACCESS for English Learner’s assessment.

Hip Hop meets high school band

Just days away from the Spring Lake Park High School (SLPHS) R&B Hip Hop Revue Band Showcase Concert, high school bands and jazz ensembles and guest artists from the Minneapolis’ Hip Hop industry have been hard at work rehearsing to create a unique and powerful concert.
