Panthers for a Purpose event 2023

The Panthers for a Purpose Week of Giving is February 18-25, 2023 and culminates in a not-to-be-missed Panther Party on Saturday, February 25. The Panther Foundation’s biggest fundraising event of the year supports Spring Lake Park Schools with a special focus this year on supporting Career and College Pathways.

The fundraising and Panther Pride week includes an online silent auction, dine-to-donate opportunities at local restaurants and activities all week long. Find all the information you need for the Week of Giving and Panther Party on the Panthers for a Purpose event page.

“While this is a fundraising effort each year that provides support for all kinds of activities and programs that benefit students at Spring Lake Park Schools, it’s also much more than that,” says Colleen Pederson, Panther Foundation Executive Director. “During this week-long event, we hope to engage our entire community in celebrating our pride in the Panther experience.”

Each year, the Foundation’s efforts include support for a special Fund-A-Dream project. This year, the Fund-A-Dream is Career and College Pathways, courses and programming to support students in exploring potential career paths.

Career and College Pathways provides students across grades with real-world experiences they develop skills within a field and explore different career options. At Spring Lake Park High School, three Pathways represent a predicted need for future jobs – Business and Entrepreneurship, Technology, Engineering and Design, Health and Human Services. Students take courses across Pathways or choose to go deep within one that sparks their interest.

“Spring Lake Park Schools have strong and unique Career and College Pathways programming to help students explore potential future paths,” says Colleen. “The Panther Foundation is proud to partner to provide financial support to cover experiences outside of the core curriculum that get students out in the community and connect them with real-world experiences that help shape their future paths.”
