Mark your calendar for the R & B Hip Hop Revue Band Showcase, coming Monday, October 7 at 7 p.m. in the Spring Lake Park High School’s (SLPHS) Fine Arts Center and the Young People’s Concert on Tuesday, October 8 at 6 p.m. in the SLPHS Fine Arts Center.
Spring Lake Park High School Showcase Concert
The annual Band Showcase features all high school bands and jazz ensembles and this year will be joined by guests from the Minneapolis’ Hip Hop and R&B industry. Joshua Holmgren, Minneapolis music producer, composer/arranger, artist and SLP alum, has arranged the music for the concert and is producing the overall performance to create a unique, authentic, innovative and powerful concert.
The high school bands received a grant from the Panther Foundation to produce this experience and concert for all band students 6-12. Join them on Monday, October 7 at 7 p.m. as they welcome Joshua and a variety of guest artists and DJs to join them on stage.
The Young People’s Concert
The bands and special guests will bring the R & B Hip Hop Revue to younger students and their families at the annual Young People’s Concert, October 8 at 6 p.m. in the high school’s Fine Arts Center. The concert will offer pre-K through grade school students the opportunity to participate with a Hip Hop dance company, learn about musical instruments and hear and sing along with familiar music. The Young People’s Concert is a great way to see and hear what band is all about.
