Spring Lake Park Schools is hosting a number of events this winter and spring to help current and incoming families prepare for the next steps in their students’ education. Whether you are looking to enroll a student, preparing for a school transition or registering for classes, we hope students and families can join us to learn more.
Families new to the district – schedule a visit today

Kindergarten Kickoff for the Class of 2037
Each of our elementary schools is hosting a kickoff event for future kindergarteners and their families to attend together. A personalized learning experience begins by getting to know each other. At this event, you’ll learn about kindergarten at SLP, take a tour of the building, engage in fun activities and meet the building principal. All events are 5:30-7:30 p.m.

- Tuesday, February 6 - Woodcrest Spanish Immersion - please note, this session is specifically for families interested in Spanish Immersion programming. Learn about the benefits of immersion, curriculum and experience.

Get to Know Westwood for current 4th grade families
When students finish 4th grade at our elementary schools, they transition to 5th grade at Westwood Intermediate and Middle School. Families and students are invited to attend an Introduction to Westwood session to learn more about the school, the transition to 5th grade and to meet the Westwood team. If your family is new to Westwood, we recommend attending both the online and in-person event.

Attend the Westwood Welcome Thursday, February 1, 5:30-7:30 p.m.
Fourth grade students and their families will have an opportunity to visit Westwood in person on Wednesday, February 1, 5:30-7:30 p.m. Attendees will participate in several topic-specific, small group information sessions, dive into common parent questions and tour the building.
Transition to 7th grade for current 6th grade families
There will be two online information sessions for families of 6th grade students on February 27 to share information about the transition to middle school. Join us on WebEx at 10 a.m. or 6 p.m. Both sessions will have the same great content. The sessions will focus on grade 7 and 8 programming, registration, and schedules for middle school. Transition to 8th grade for current 7th grade families
There will be two online information sessions for families of 7th grade students on February 28 to share elective choices for next year. Join us on WebEx at 10 a.m. or 6 p.m. Both sessions will have the same great content. Join the session of your choice using this WebEx link.
High school registration for current 8-11 grade students and families
Students in 8th, 9th, 10th and 11th grade will register for their 2024-2025 classes starting Tuesday, January 16. Now is the time for students to review course offerings, program options, athletics and activities and graduation requirements.

- Tuesday, January 16 - High school registration opens for the 2024-2025 school year. Registration materials, including a registration catalog, interactive course guide and recorded presentations on important topics will be available at SpringLakeParkSchools.org/HSregistration.
- Registration General Overview - Online Family Information Sessions. Join an online family information session for a general registration overview. Choose a time that works best for your schedule. Recordings will be available following the event.
- Wednesday, February 7 - Explore your Options event at the high school, 5-7 p.m.
- Friday, February 16 - High school registration closes for the 2024-2025 school year
