Spring Lake Park Schools is hosting a number of events in January and February to help current and incoming families prepare for the next steps in their students’ education. Whether you are looking to enroll a student, preparing for a school transition or registering for classes, we hope students and families can join us to learn more.

Preschool Information Nights

Preschool opportunities are available at all SLP elementary schools and the District Services Center. Stop by anytime during the times listed below to visit a classroom, meet a teacher and learn more.

  • Centerview Elementary, Thursday, January 23, 5:30-7 p.m.
  • Northpoint Elementary, Tuesday, January 28, 5:30-7 p.m.
  • Park Terrace Elementary, Thursday, January 30, 5:30-7 p.m.
  • District Services Center, Thursday, January 30, 4:30-6 p.m.
  • Woodcrest Spanish Immersion, Tuesday, February 4, 5:30-7 p.m.

Enroll online beginning Monday, February 3 at 8:30 a.m.

Kindergarten Kickoff for the Class of 2033

Parents and students are invited to attend one of four Kindergarten Parent Information and Enrollment Sessions in January. These events allow staff and students to get to know each other in meaningful ways as your child’s kindergarten experience begins.

  • Centerview Elementary, Thursday, January 23, 5:30-7 p.m.
  • Northpoint Elementary, Tuesday, January 28, 5:30-7 p.m.
  • Park Terrace Elementary, Thursday, January 30, 5:30-7 p.m.
  • For any family interested in Spanish Immersion experience - Woodcrest Spanish Immersion, Tuesday, February 4, 5:30-7 p.m.

Remember to enroll your child for kindergarten by Friday, February 28.

Introduction to Westwood for 4th grade families

Fourth graders in Spring Lake Park Schools transition to 5th grade at Westwood Intermediate and When students finish fourth grade at our Spring Lake Park elementary schools, they transition to 5th grade at Westwood Intermediate and Middle School. Families are invited to attend an Introduction to Westwood to learn more about the school, the transition to 5th grade and to meet the Westwood team. 

Plan to visit during one of three sessions:

  1. Monday, February 24. 5-6 p.m.-  For Centerview, Park Terrace, and Northpoint parents of students in grade 4
  2. Monday, February 24,  6-7 p.m.- For Centerview, Park Terrace, and Northpoint parents of students in grade 4
  3. Monday, February 24,  6-7 p.m.- For Woodcrest Spanish Immersion parents of students in grade 4

Not able to make it? Contact the Westwood office to find another time to visit, 763-600-5300. The Westwood team is looking forward to welcoming the class of 2028 next fall. 

Transition to Middle School for 6th grade families

The transition from 6th grade at Westwood Intermediate School to 7th grade at Westwood Middle School is more than a walk across the hallway. Families are invited to learn more about the middle school and new options open to 7th grade students at this information night.

  • Monday, February 24, 7-8 p.m.

High School Kickoff and Registration for 8th grade families

Over the coming months, there will be opportunities for 8th graders and their families to learn more about Spring Lake Park High School, including course offerings, program options, athletics and activities and graduation requirements.

There are several key dates for families to know about:

  • Thursday, January 30 – Counselors from the high school will be at Westwood Intermediate and Middle School to help 8th grade students get oriented to high school registration
  • Monday, February 3 – High School registration opens for the 2020-2021 school year. Check out the online registration guide.
  • Wednesday, February 5 –Students and families are invited to attend High School Kickoff and Registration at Spring Lake Park High School, 4:30-7 p.m. Learn more
  • Friday, February 14 – High school registration closes for the 2020-2021 school year

Registration and Information Sessions for grades 9-11

High school students in 9th, 10th and 11th grade will register for their 2020-2021 classes starting Monday, February 3. This is the time for students to review course offerings, program options, athletics and activities and graduation requirements.

There are several important dates for families to know about:

  • Monday, February 3 – High school registration opens for the 2020-2021 school year. Check out the online registration guide.
  • Thursday, February 13
    • Parent/Teacher Conferences, 4:30-7 p.m.
    • Family information sessions on Career and College Readiness, including Pathways and 12x12
  • Friday, February 14 – Parent/Teacher Conferences, 8 a.m.-3 p.m.
  • Friday, February 14 – High school registration closes for the 2020-2021 school year
