Meet Principal Judi Kahoun

At Northpoint, I am proud of the work of our entire staff as they focus on our children. Our staff grows along with the children as we work together to help our children see no limits to their futures.

Welcome to Northpoint Elementary! We are located in Blaine and are part of Spring Lake Park Schools. We support approximately 600 students in kindergarten through fourth grade with varied academic, social, and emotional needs.

We strive for excellence each day and we look forward to working with you throughout the school year. Our school is fortunate to have staff, students and parents working together to create partnerships for learning. Our staff’s goal is to ensure the academic success of each individual student and help foster every child’s social and emotional growth. Our staff’s commitment and dedication are evident on a daily basis in all that we do. We are committed to continually improving and innovating to achieve the Spring Lake Park purpose of being a world-class learning community.

As principal of Northpoint, I am committed to ensure your child:

  • Reads with deep understanding, writes to express themselves, and applies math knowledge and strategies in order to problem solve at the highest levels
  • Learns to advocate for themselves in order to express their beliefs and needs, while being able to practice inquiry and allow themselves to learn from others, and be open to different perspectives, and ask good questions and think at the highest of levels
  • Develops social skills to demonstrate good manners, show kindness, empathy, and compassion, and to be a good friend to all
  • Contributes with pride as a member of a collaborative group, take initiative and see a job through to completion

Why I'm #SLPPantherProud

I am most proud of the work of our entire staff as they focus on our children, I know our team wants each child to feel welcome and cared for while at school and to reach their highest potential. Our teachers consider how we might do things "differently" in order to serve each child. They design and plan around what each child needs, and our staff grows along with the children as we work together to help our children see no limits to their futures.

What is your favorite thing about Northpoint?

My favorite thing about our school is the family feeling we have created among students, staff and families. The relationships we create and sustain over time are meaningful, and we wouldn't want it any other way!
