The 3D Student-designed objects for How To Make Almost Anything, one of the most popular courses at Spring Lake Park High School, are appearing. The Technology, Engineering and Design elective within the Career and College Pathways offerings provides a jumping off point for students to explore careers as they learn.

SLPHS Anas Sumrin Fridley Fire Station

It only took one class during junior year through Opportunities in Emergency Care to steer Anas Sumrin’s future direction. Last year, he became an Emergency Medical Technician – a certification he earned at Spring Lake Park High School. Now, as a senior, Anas is interning at the Fridley Fire Department where he takes a primary role in patient care on medical calls.

Julian Christensen and Trevon Holeman started their senior year unsure how to get a job and gain experience within the career path they want to pursue after graduation - mechanics. After understanding and taking advantage of the resources available to them through the Spring Lake Park High School Career and College office, both students now have a part-time job at Heartland Tire.
