Winter provided another season of highlights, successes and triumphs for Panther athletics and activities. With seven winter girls’ sports, seven winter boys’ sports and more than 45 student-based interest clubs and co-curricular activities at Spring Lake Park High School, our Panthers made us proud.

The Panther Foundation’s annual Week of Giving and Panther Party raised $159,000 and counting to support activities and programs benefiting the students of Spring Lake Park Schools.

It has been an exciting and action-packed couple of weeks for Spring Lake Park High School students who are involved a variety of activities through DECA. The co-curricular activity prepares students for careers in business and leadership through competitive events, workshops, community service, fundraisers and more.

When students send their first professional email to a mentor - someone working in a real, local business - they don’t know what to expect in return. When they get insights on marketing, education, product development, trends, advertising and more, the world of business is opened.

Teachers of reading have a heavy load of learning to complete this year aligned to state requirements in the READ Act. Spring Lake Park Schools has taken an approach designed to develop teacher leaders, build collaboration and result in immediate application to student learning experiences.

Trevor Sherbert gets a knee hug and a "hey, Mr. T" as he welcomes kindergarteners to school. He’s the day's sub. As substitute teachers are harder to find, Educator Apprentices, like Trevor, are part of an innovative approach to keeping learning going when teachers are gone. For Trevor, a Spring Lake Park Schools grad, the job is helping him explore teaching as a career.

At Spring Lake Park High School, students in the Introduction to Engineering course are putting their creativity and technical skills to the test. In a recent challenge, students designed and 3D-printed custom bathroom passes for teachers in the building.

The Panther Foundation is gearing up for its’ annual fundraising event, Panthers for a Purpose. This year’s Week of Giving is February 16-22, 2025. Proceeds raised directly support Spring Lake Park Schools' students. Everyone is invited to participate in this week of pride-filled fun.
