What year did you start working in Spring Lake Park Schools?
2017

Why did you choose to join Spring Lake Park Schools?
Spring Lake Park Schools has been the district I have aspired to be a part of. The dynamic student population, the passion for innovation and creativity, as well as the focus on staff collaboration are all things that made Spring Lake Park Schools stand out to me.

What's the best part of your day, as an employee of Spring Lake Park Schools?
The best part of my day is the connections I get to make. This starts before students even arrive in the morning when I get a chance to connect with some of the amazing staff members at Park Terrace. During my day, I love working with small groups of students where we get the opportunity to learn from and about each other. Connections and relationships are my favorite part of teaching in Spring Lake Park.

What do you do when you're not at work?
I love exploring the Twin Cities. Even though I grew up in the area, I find there is so much to do and see. I enjoy trying local restaurants, coffee shops and attending neighborhood festivities. There is a tremendous amount of diversity in our area and I make an effort to try something new every week. If you have any tips on what I should try next, please, pass them along!

How do you personalize learning for students?
In order to personalize learning opportunities for my students, I make an ongoing effort to know each of them. I get to work with students who are learning English as a second language. Each of these students brings something unique to our group. I provide sharing time with their backgrounds, strengths, interests and needs. This allows me to adapt, connect or create lessons that will engage each student.

What makes you #SLPPantherProud?
Every single student I work with makes me #SLPPantherProud! Their passions, perseverance and authenticity are infectious. I am proud to be one of their teachers!
