What year did you start working in Spring Lake Park Schools?
2015-2016 school year

Why did you choose to join Spring Lake Park Schools?
I chose Spring Lake Park Schools because my daughter was attending Northpoint Elementary. I would volunteer during lunch and recess when she was in Kindergarten. A staff member told me that I should get paid for doing what I was already doing. I applied and worked as a lunch para for a couple of weeks and when Mrs. Kahoun asked me to be a Behavioral Para I applied and that's what I've been doing since.

What's the best part of your day, as an employee of Spring Lake Park Schools?
The best part is coming to Northpoint and working with the kids. To see them smile and to be able to let them know that they will have a fun day at school. I also get to work with amazing coworkers and with teachers that are understanding, caring and only want is the best for their students.

What do you do when you're not at work?
I like playing with my kids and hanging out with my family. I like to watch football, basketball and soccer. I love playing all sorts of sports. I am not great at one but pretty good at most.

How do you Personalize Learning for students?
I like to find out what each student is like and get on their level. I want what is best for them, by giving breaks or just to listen to them. I want them to know that school is a safe place where they can be themselves and where they are loved.

What makes you #SLPPantherProud?
I’m Panther Proud because I get to work with amazing kids and see them smile when they solve a problem by themselves and because I get to work with amazing coworkers who support me and laugh with me. I’m proud of the football program and where it is heading. I’m proud of the Personalized Learning for every student in our district. Go Panthers!
