David Moren, teacher at Northpoint Elementary since 2016, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 25.
“To all of us at Spring Lake Park Schools, David was a community builder,” says Judi Kahoun, principal at Northpoint. “He built community in his classroom with his students and with his colleagues. Our community was made better by David’s presence, and we will miss him.”
David joined Spring Lake Park Schools in 2016 and taught first, second and fourth grade at Northpoint.
His colleagues remember him as an awesome collaborator and leader and a skilled educator. His outgoing nature, eagerness to contribute to teams and ability to connect with students, families and colleagues was a gift to our community.
“All of us at Northpoint and Spring Lake Park Schools grieve with David’s wife, Nicole, and his entire family on this tremendous loss,” says Judi.
David’s obituary shares information about the visitation scheduled for Sunday, August 30 from 1-5pm at Holcomb-Henry-Boom-Purcell Funeral Home. The memorial service will be private, but it will be live-streamed on Monday, August 31, for anyone to view. There has also been a Go Fund Me page set up to help support David’s family:
Anyone interested in dropping off a card or other memorial in memory of David, can drop them at Northpoint Elementary. They will be delivered to David’s family.
