Spring Lake Park High School partners with Lighthouse School to offer students a variety of honors and Advanced Placement courses. Students interested in these courses should watch for more information regarding class options and contact Lisa Cisewski (firstname.lastname@example.org) to enroll.
7th and 8th grade students who have shown they are ready, may enroll in one Spring Lake Park High School course concurrently.
Students taking classes at the high school are still required to complete Lighthouse expectations, however they are able to work with their advisor to determine what work completed within the high school class can be exchanged for specific expectations within the Lighthouse.
High School Credits
Students that graduate from Lighthouse School meet Spring Lake Park Schools graduation requirements. They do this by earning the required credits needed within Lighthouse School expectations, which align with Spring Lake Park Schools Essential Learning Outcomes.
Throughout the school year, Lighthouse students will be exposed to many unique learning experiences. Beyond the normal school day, Lighthouse students may participate in athletic and extra-curricular activities within Spring Lake Park Schools Athletics and Activities office and the Community Education department.
11th and 12th graders have the opportunity to concurrently enroll at both the Lighthouse School for Gifted and Insatiable Learners and a participating college. The credits earned through Post Secondary Enrollment Options (PSEO) are applied to both high school and college transcripts.
