Credit by Assessment

Credit by assessment/for prior learning is an option available to students who have previously mastered the content, standards, knowledge and skills of a course needed for high school graduation. Students might have learned the content through out-of-school learning experiences or courses taken through accredited institutions e.g. Concordia Language Camp or Northwestern University’s Gifted Learning Links.

Students are able to demonstrate mastery several ways: an Advanced Placement exam score of 3 or better; a College Level Examination Program (CLEP) passing score; grades from an accredited institution; meeting with their advisor and the Lighthouse coordinator to establish an alternative method of demonstrating mastery.
