Our approach to innovation

We use our 3D Design process - Discover, Design, Deliver - to solve problems and improve learning. It helps us understand what students, families and staff need, come up with ideas and put the best ideas into action.

Discover

First, we Discover.

We listen, ask questions and learn from the people we are designing for. We look closely at their experiences to understand what is working well and what could be better. We look in to our own systems and people to find out what's happening. We look out to understand what is best practices. And, we look around to see what others are doing.

By the end of this step, we have a clear understanding of the problem we want to solve.

Design

Next, we Design.

We use what we learned to think of many possible solutions. Then we test our best ideas with simple models, prototypes or small trials. We ask for feedback and learn what works and what needs to change.

Each time we test an idea, we improve it until we're ready to move forward with the best idea.

Deliver

Finally, we Deliver.

We put our solution into action and watch how it works. We keep learning from the results and make changes when needed.

We know that improvement doesn't stop after an idea is launched. We continue to learn, adjust and grow. Sometimes that means going back to Discover or Design to make the solution even better.

The 3D Design process is flexible and ongoing. It helps us keep improving so we can better serve each student.
