Early Release on FridayThis Friday, April 14 is our last early release day this year. Students will be released from classes at 12:40 p.m. Lunch will be served at that time. Students who ride buses and those who choose to stay at school will have opportunities to sign up for activities or continue to work in productive spaces. Buses will run at regular times. |

OEC HOSA State Leadership ConferenceSpring Lake Park OEC (Opportunities in Emergency Care) students performed well at the HOSA State Leadership Conference in St. Cloud last week. Students who placed 1st, 2nd and 3rd qualify for the HOSA International Leadership Conference in Dallas in June. Great job to all!

SLPHS senior earns $20,000 in scholarshipsA big $20,000 congratulations to Spring Lake Park High School senior, Melina, on earning scholarships through two organizations! She wrote personal essays for both, was recognized at a Twins baseball game, and plans to major in business/marketing at Arizona State University next fall. We are so proud of our Panther seniors making lasting impacts in the world!

Field Trip Permission Slips are DUE THURSDAY: We have 2 options: - UMN Rochester and Winona on 4/20 - bus leaves at 7am and returns around 5pm. Cost is $10
- Metro State and UMN Twin Cities 4/26 - bus leaves at 9am and returns around 2:55pm.
**You must be on track to graduate and passing classes to attend these field trips. Field trip permission slips can be found in Student Services and B138.

Grace Brandt named the 2023 Athena Award WinnerSpring Lake Park High School is proud to announce senior Grace Brandt as their winner for the 2023 Athena Award for her outstanding athletic achievements! Grace is an accomplished athlete in gymnastics and track and field where she has won numerous conference, section and state awards.
When asked about her top three most important athletic achievements, Grace said “Receiving All-State in both gymnastics and track and field in 2021, placing 2nd in the top 10 records list for Spring Lake Park High School in the 100m hurdles, 300m hurdles and 4x1 relay and also being the first All-State gymnast in Spring Lake Park High School’s history.” |

Decision Day is Coming May 1
We invite students to participate in DecisionDay on Monday, May 1. In-person students - Stop by lunch on May 1 to pick up a senior goodie bag and take a photo in your college/military gear and let us know what your plans are for the fall. Distance and PSEO students - Please send in a photo of yourself in your college/military gear to jblaid@district16.org by May 1 to be included in the celebration.
