In a few short weeks, homemade drones assembled by students will fill the air outside Westwood Intermediate and Middle School. They are coming together thanks to the after-school Code & Fly Camp. This month, the high school gym will come alive with the sounds of indoor Pickleball.
These new programs are available through Spring Lake Park Schools Community Education. Each program is designed to help participants learn new skills, connect with others who share similar interests and — maybe most importantly – have fun.
“We’ve been working hard to expand our options for youth of all grade levels, adults and families,” says Colleen Pederson, executive director of Community Education and Extended Day Programs. “From athletics and arts to STEM and life skills, we provide tons of opportunities for youth and people of all ages to find their spark outside of a traditional school day.”
Something for everyone

Beyond youth programming, adults and families are invited into our buildings and programs. Adult programs are designed to enhance the quality of people’s lives through affordable classes, workshops and activities.
“The adult programs put together at SLP are very good at bringing people together,” says one community member.
Adult courses are taught by professionals and experts who enjoy sharing information, strategies and new developments in their fields of expertise. From Pickleball and nail art to basic home plumbing repairs and ballroom dancing, there is something for every adult in the area. Browse adult programs.
There are also entertaining and educational opportunities for the whole family to enjoy. These special programs are certain to provide lasting memories for families whether they are getting outside together to enjoy nature on some snowshoes or learning how to decorate the perfect cupcake. There really is something for everyone in our community to get involved in.
