SLP and Lion's Club members smiling with the giant donated check

At the March 5 regular school board meeting, the Spring Lake Park Lions Club presented the district with a check for $10,000 to be used to support mental health services for students in the district.

The check was presented to the district by Lions President Shelly Barrett, who shared comments on the club’s commitment to helping students in the district. The donated funds will be used to provide alternative mental health services for students whose beliefs and values may not align with traditional practices. These funds are a supplement to the district’s existing mental health work in partnership with the Lee Carlson Center for Mental Health and Well Being.
