SLPHS students enrolled in an Environmental Science course are knee-deep in a Recycling Campaign where they are designing and managing a recycling program. This week the students promoted their campaign to their classmates to get the word out and celebrate Earth Week.
Spring Lake Park High School junior An Trinh took the student math competition world by storm this year. His laundry list of accomplishments include placing first in the Eau Claire Math Contest and being selected for the All State Math Team
Spring Lake Park High School student Ananda Patel has been selected as the 2018-2019 state president of the Minnesota Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA), and SLPHS student Emma Wadja has been selected as the 2018-2019 FCCLA president-elect.
Beginning with the 2018-2019 school year, each of the four K-4 elementary schools as well as at Westwood supporting fifth and sixth grade students and teachers will have a fulltime gifted and talented/STEM specialist teacher to work with students and teachers.
Along with the ongoing construction of Centerview Elementary School in Blaine, there are several facility construction and renovation projects that have begun or will start in mid to late spring.
The Ignite program uses research-based teaching and creative scheduling to place a greater emphasis on personalizing learning for each student. Four teachers are assigned to students in the Ignite program, which will help build relationships between teachers and students.
