Local Youth Organizations

Spring Lake Park Schools Community Education partners with local community youth organizations in order to make parents aware of opportunities throughout the district. Below are just a few of the organizations that exist in our community.

Blaine Area Little League (ages 4-12)

Blaine Area Little League (B.A.L.L.) serves students within the Spring Lake Park High School and Blaine High School boundaries. More than 1,000 kids age 4-12 participate in competitive league play each season. Registrations open in January and the season typically runs May through July (ending earlier for younger ages). It's not unusual for kids to start as pre-schoolers and play with B.A.L.L. into middle school. Friendships, teamwork and learning to love baseball are core principles of B.A.L.L. Ages 4-12 are welcome, and everyone makes a team.

Twin Cities Rush Soccer (ages 3-18)

Spring Lake Park Youth Basketball (grades 2-8)

The Spring Lake Park Youth Basketball program gives young athletes, grades 2-8, the opportunity play the game of basketball at a competitive level. There are two programs available: Travel for grades 3-8 and Rec for grades 2-8. They also have unique development opportunities for K-3 athletes this season.

The travel program plays throughout the metro in weekend tournaments with two practices per week while the rec program has weekly practices and plays weekend games against teams from Anoka, Blaine, Coon Rapids, DaVinci Academy, Fridley and Andover (girls only).

Spring Lake Park Youth Football (grades K-6)

Spring Lake Park Panther Youth Football has a new home in 2014 as it is no longer a part of the BSLPAA. Panther Youth Football will serve students living in or attending school in the Spring Lake Park School District. Flag football is offered for grade K-1 and tackle football for grades 2-6. Practices begin in August with the season ending in late October. Player development, team building, player safety and learning how to have fun playing football are key components of this program. Please join us as everyone makes a team.

Registration runs May-July with an early bird discount if registered by July 1.

Spring Lake Park Youth Hockey Association (ages 4+)

The Spring Lake Park Youth Hockey Association operates the youth hockey program for children enrolled in Spring Lake Park schools, as well as for those students from St. Anthony who want to play hockey. Registration is open annually from early August until early October for ages 4-8, and early August to mid-September for ages 9 and up. Activities begin in mid October and end in early march, depending on age level.

Off-season hockey camps are offered for all ages in two sessions: spring session, running from April-June and fall session, running August-October.

Spring Lake Park Youth Lacrosse Association (ages 7-13)

The Spring Lake Park Youth Lacrosse Association was established in 2014 to provide an opportunity for youth to learn and enjoy the sport of lacrosse, and to honor the game by instilling the values of scholastic achievement, sportsmanship, and individual development. The program is open to boys and follows the US Lacrosse boys league rules. We do not currently offer a girls-only program, but girls are encouraged to play with Centennial Youth Lacrosse ( https://www.centenniallax.org/page/show/1252941-girls-teams )

Pre-Season Box Registration opens in November for 10U/12U/14U Players (grades 3-8). The season runs March-April and includes practices and games. Equipment is available to rent. New and experienced players are welcome to register.

Spring Season Registration opens in January for 8U/10U/12U/14U Players (grades 1-8). The season runs April through early June and includes practices, games and two tournaments. Equipment is available to rent. All skill levels of players are welcome to register.

There are also unique development opportunities (for boys and girls) including Try Lacrosse for Free for ages 5-14 at different ability levels. Registration is open at our website. Questions? Contact slpbyla@gmail.com

Spring Lake Park Softball Association (8U-18U)

Spring Lake Park Softball Association (SLPSA) is committed to providing opportunities for girls to play fastpitch in the Spring Lake Park School District area. SLPSA will emphasize development of fundamental softball skills in a fun, safe and competitive environment. Athletes will develop skills in cooperation, teamwork, sportsmanship, character, leadership and service in the community.
