As required by Minnesota Department of Health for Certified Centers, our staff are operating under the guidance of a Covid-19 Preparedness Plan that protects children, families, staff and community. Parents who would like to review the plan should ask staff for a copy.
Some of our health and safety practices specific to childcare settings.
- At arrival before parents leave, children will be screened for wellness. Students who do not meet MDH guidelines will not be able to stay on-site. Staff will provide parents with follow-up instructions necessary before students can return to attend.
- Students will be expected to wash their hands at arrival and frequently throughout the day. Toys, equipment, materials and spaces will be washed and sanitized frequently throughout the day.
- We will create small pods of students and staff, using larger group spaces when possible. Intermingling between pods will be strictly restricted.
- Spaces will allow for social distance of at least 6 feet between individuals at play, at table activities, at meals, and other activities.
What happens if my child's class or school is closed because of COVID-19? Do I have to pay for care, or will my account be credited?
Learning Ventures will follow MDH protocols if a site has a positive COVID-19 case. In some cases, it may not cause an entire location to close. If the protocol results in a closure or suspension of care, families will be credited or refunded for the days care is not provided. LV will work with the Spring Lake Park Schools COVID Coordinator and use the structure outline in the 2020-21 Safe Learning Plan.
What are your safety and physical distancing practices?
Learning Ventures will create 'pods' of students to limit exposure. Pods will participate in a variety of activities within their pod and assigned room or outside area. LV will follow the same social distancing and cleaning practices as the school.
Are masks required?
Yes, masks are required for students and staff. Per Executive Order 20-81 masks are required in the school buildings. All students and staff are required to wear a mask at LV. During snack and mealtimes masks will not be required, but physical distancing will be in effect. When you drop off or pick up your child, please wear a mask. Discovery Days students are strongly encouraged to wear a mask but are not required due to age.
