Immersion and Multilingual Learners
At Centerview Elementary, a variety of multilingual learning opportunities support students in acquiring language skills on the path to becoming multilingual and multiliterate graduates and even earning college credit and bilingual seals.
For students whose primary language is not English, we personalize learning to ensure equitable access to learning opportunities, while honoring the unique languages and cultures students bring to our schools. Through personalized instruction, we work to ensure that students who enter school with a background in a language other than English, aligned with criteria from the state, are prepared for the language demands of their classes.

Families of students whose heritage language is Spanish may choose to enroll at Woodcrest Spanish Immersion Elementary School (grades K-4). Families should confer with the school to determine if this is a good fit for their student’s learning needs.
As a part of Spring Lake Park Schools, students at Centerview will have the opportunity to begin learning a world language, either Spanish or German, in grade 7 at Westwood Middle School. World language learning continues at Spring Lake Park High School. If students continue to take a language and attain certain proficiency levels, there is an opportunity to earn college credits as early as the fourth year of studying the language.
