Kaitlin Rose smiling with her new school record medal

Spring Lake Park High School sophomore Kaitlin Rose set a new school record after 27 years in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:17.10 at the Section 5AA Swimming and Diving meet on Saturday, November 10 at Minnetonka East Middle School.

The previous school record holder for the 500 freestyle was set by Kari Kugler in 1991 with a time of 5:18.08, who is the sister of current head swimming and diving coach Greg Kugler.
