Cross Country, co-ed
Click the link below to access information shared at the pre-season meeting on August 10th
Practice times are as follows:
- August 17-28: 8:30 a.m.-10:30 a.m.
- August 31-October 24th*: 3:30 p.m.-5:30 p.m.
*Our last regular season meet is October 10th, and the plans are being developed for a section/state aspect of the season, so please stay tuned. Since we don't know what that looks like yet, I am including those weeks in the season for practices.
We intend to meet outside as much as possible for practices. The team will be divided into pods to limit the amount of exposure, and we are currently working with a few ideas for pods, because we don't know yet how many athletes we have and there are some other logistics to be worked out as well. This year, locker rooms will not be available during the month of August, so please have your student/athlete limit the amount of personal items they are bringing to practice. Student/athletes will need the following:
- A mask (needs to be worn in the building)
- Running shoes
- Water bottle
- Running shorts/shirt
- Watch (recommended, not required)
Due to the different possibilities for a learning model this year, we understand that athletes may not be able to attend practice every single day. We ask that if a student can't attend practice because of ride issues, symptoms, or quarantine, that they contact us by 3:00 p.m. to let us know (coaches can be reached via Remind, email or Schoology message). We will provide an alternate way for them to participate at home if appropriate. The expectation is that if students have a ride (or are in school), not experiencing symptoms, or not in quarantine that they are at practice

Cross Country Team Philosophy
The philosophy of the coed cross country program is to provide the opportunity to learn the skills necessary to compete successfully in the sport of cross country. This is done in an environment not unlike the classroom where skills are taught. Encouragement is given to achieve one's potential and contests are entered to allow the student athlete to utilize those skills learned. It is expected that the student athlete will demonstrate his/her skills in competition in the spirit of good sportsmanship.
Due to the nature of cross country, every student athlete will remain on the squad and participate in all contests which allow for unlimited entries, either as varsity or junior varsity as determined by the coaching staff.
