Academic Eligibility

Spring Lake Park High School students must earn 64 credits to graduate. In order to participate fully in athletics and activities, specific levels of academic performance must be maintained.

At the start of each trimester, students who want to participate in athletics or activities must be on track with their credits to participate. There are four levels of participation:

  • Eligiblepractice and compete/perform: Students are on track with the number of credits needed and with their core graduation requirements
  • Probationpractice and compete/perform + plan: A learner map must be in place, developed with and signed by the counselor, student, coach and parent. The student must be demonstrating progress at identified checkpoints. A student can have no more than three consecutive trimesters on probation without progress to be on track to graduation
  • Restrictedpractice only, no compete/perform: A learner map must be in place and the student must be demonstrating progress at identified checkpoints to continue practicing.
  • Ineligibleno practice or compete/perform: Student is ineligible to participate.
