At its June 13 meeting, the Spring Lake Park School Board approved a new collective bargaining agreement with Spring Lake Park Teachers United.
In an effort to streamline communication with parents, Spring Lake Park Schools will use email, phone messages, text messages and push notifications through the mobile app to share bus stop information with parents.
To add to the excitement that comes with the construction of the new K-4 elementary school, Superintendent Jeff Ronneberg has announced that Mike Callahan will serve as the school’s principal. Callahan is currently the district’s director of student services, and has worked in the district for 13 years.
When eighth grade student Evan Fedoravicius interviewed his grandfather for a World War II project, he quickly discovered his grandfather’s history in the Holocaust was a story his classmates would be interested in hearing.
This spring, Julie Tweit challenged her 8th grade honors students to write a novel in one month. Students were energized by the project and Mackenzie Monsrud was honored for her writing by the Anoka County Library’s 2017 Write One! Teen Short Story Contest.
