Lighthouse School Entrance Criteria

Grounded in best practice research the selection process for program entry reflects a multi-dimensional perspective. Employing a team of evaluators, made up of staff members and the program coordinator, will review the following student performances:

The Assessment Portfolio Elements

Achievement test scores
Ability test scores
Products of independent performances
Written teacher recommendations
Interview by selection team
Example of student writing
Evidence of special interests or successes
Grades from previous schools

Upon completion of the assessment of the portfolio items, a recommendation will be made for admission for the selected candidate. Candidates' parents will be notified within a week. Upon acceptance to the school, registration will need to be completed.
