The five short years from birth to the start of kindergarten are an important time of rapid growth and learning. The Early Childhood programs in Spring Lake Park School District are committed to delivering quality early learning opportunities for the youngest residents of the Fridley-Blaine-Spring Lake Park communities and their parents. Here families will find opportunities to grow and learn together in a safe, secure, supportive and stimulating environment.

In September of 2007, the four Early Childhood programs moved to a new addition at Woodcrest Elementary and Early Childhood Center. Our new facility offers bright and spacious classrooms which were specially designed for babies, toddlers and preschoolers. We provide a nurturing environment that stimulates learning, exploration and play. Children are free to explore individual interests while learning the skills and behaviors necessary to be successful in school.

All of our Early Childhood classes are taught by qualified professionals who have at least a four-year college degree and hold a teaching license from the Minnesota Department of Education. Our knowledgeable, dedicated teachers bring many years of early childhood and family teaching experience to Spring Lake Park School District.

Whether your child is an infant, toddler or preschooler-- he or she needs a lot of attention and special time with you.  Early Childhood provides fun and lively learning activities for young children to enjoy with their parents and by themselves. Early Childhood can help prepare your child for academic achievement and lifelong success. Research has shown that the first years of life provide critical windows of opportunity for learning. Early Childhood classes, events and programs are designed to give parents information, ideas, and skills to support their child’s rapid growth and development from birth to kindergarten. Come for your child--and stay for yourself!
