Ninth grade Spring Lake Park Panthers golfer Ally Rogers, was the winner of the Section 5AAA golf tournament, and a participant in the June 11-12 MSHSL State Tournament. She was interviewed prior to the state tournament by  WCCO-TV and ESPN. View the WCCO broadcast here. Ally could also be part of an upcoming news item on ESPN's online Midwest affiliates. 

Pete Sienko, grade 11, was also the Section 5AAA medalist with a low round of 72, and also competed in the June 11-12 state golf tournament, placing 26th in Class 3A.

Congratulations to our Panthers student-athletes - two were state champs -  who completed in the June 7-8 Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) Track & Field Championships held at Hamline University.

CJ Janu was the 110-meter hurdles state champion, and was second in the state in the 300-meter hurdles.

JoLynn Super was first in the state in the 800-meter wheelchair race, and third in the 100- meter event.

Ejodamen Ejiya was 8th in the state in the triple jump, and Jacob Ojile competed in the 400-meter dash.

On the evening of Friday, May 31, 2013, commencement exercises at Spring Lake Park High School honored 334 graduates from the Class of 2013.

Family members gathered to honor the senior class upon the completion of their schooling and to be a part of their send-off into hundreds of journeys into a future filled with great promise and opportunity.

New district and school phone numbers will be in place for the upcoming 2013-14 school year - and are being introduced and utilized by those attending programs or doing business with the school district beginning this summer.  

New numbers will begin to be in use starting Monday, June 10.

The district is replacing its over 20-year-old phone system which has become increasingly difficult to support and maintain.  No longer will the district have a confusing array (754, 783, 784, 785, 795) of five prefixes, and decades-old technology that limits functionality and support...

Work begins on new classroom additions near the Park Terrace Elementary main entrance.

Some construction activity has taken place at both Park Terrace Elementary and Northpoint Elementary during the past few weeks, but activity will pick up significantly once the current school year is complete. 

Construction will include six additional classroom spaces at Northpoint, as well as ten additional classroom spaces, cafeteria expansion, and site work at Park Terrace.

On Tuesday, May 28, 2013, family and friends gathered to attend the annual Learner Celebration for the district's Learning Alternatives Community School (LACS).

LACS students were able to celebrate their success in a year- end program among their peers and family. School-wide awards were presented, as were program awards in Language Arts, Social Studies, Health and Phy. Ed, Art, Science, and Math.

On Monday, June 3, Westwood Middle School honored its 8th graders who are leaving the middle school and headed for Spring Lake Park High School in the fall.

At the annual 8th Grade Awards Program, middle school staff honored and presented year-end awards to many of the students from the eighth grade class before an audience of family members and friends.
