How was Homecoming Week? It doesn't get any better than this.
Students, families, and community members by the hundreds attended the Homecoming pre-game tailgate party and parade on Friday, Sept. 28 at Spring Lake Park High School. Dozens of school, student, booster, and community booths dispensed food, spirit ware, and information, as well as games and activities for kids. Parade units included Homecoming royalty, the high school fall play, various student groups, and the School Board.
Following the pre-game festivities, the school community packed Panther Stadium to cheer on the now 5-0 Panthers football team as they defeated opponent North St. Paul by a score of 39-0. A perfect ending to the day.
Earlier in the week there were dress-up days, a dance, staff skit at the pepfest, and seniors prevailed over juniors in the powderpuff football game. Jack Fish and Emily Lukens were crowned Homecoming king and queen, and juniors Monica Brown and Pete Sienko, sophomores Emily Borene and Kellen Roeske, and freshmen Taylor Turnquist and Aaron Flink were selected as royalty as well.
