7th graders first in multi-state region in national Continental Math League
June 24, 2010
Spring Lake Park, MN
Seventh grade students at Westwood Middle School placed first in the multi-state region  in the national five-meet Continental Math League competition.
 
Josh Bayer and Michael VandenBrook led this year’s team with perfect scores in all five meets.

well as their critical thinking. 
 
In the Spring Lake Park School District, student participate in these math events up to five times per year in grades two through eight.
Students were coached by 7th grade math teacher Jeanne Bennett. Continental Math League is coordinated and sponsored by the school district's Gifted Services Department.
