What's Covered During the Sessions
The purpose of the Parent Information Night and Registration is two-fold. First we would like to share meaningful information regarding your child’s:
  • K-3 elementary school
  • Half-day kindergarten or full day Kindergarten Plus program
  • Kindergarten curriculum and expectations
  • Health and safety
  • Transportation
  • Start to the school year
Second, to register your child who must be five years old on or before September 1 into the Spring Lake Park Schools, you will need to bring the following:
  • Birth Certificate – A certified legal certificate (with the raised seal) from the country/state in which child was born, (a passport, visa, green card, or documents supporting refuge status is also acceptable.) We will make a photocopy from the original.
  • Completed District 16 Student Enrollment Form.
The registration process will be complete once we have the enrollment, birth certificate and immunization records on file.

Additional Details about Parent Information Night & Registration
This evening will help your child’s school and the Spring Lake Park Schools determine our total number of students registering for half- day kindergarten and our Kindergarten Plus program. Kindergarten Plus registration forms will be due back on or before February 19. Families participating in Kindergarten Plus will be notified the following week.

While the evening meeting is intended for only parents or guardians, day care will be provided (for children ages 3 and up) at no cost for any family in need of this service.

If you are unable to attend your child’s designated school, you are welcome to attend Parent Information Night and Registration at any of the three elementary schools.

If you do not plan on having your child attend kindergarten in the Spring Lake Park District in the fall of 2010, please contact Joann Lattery at (763) 785-5508 or jlatte@district16.org.

Spring Lake Park Schools prides itself on providing an environment and culture of shared responsibility, innovation, valuing and respecting others, integrity and honesty, collaboration, and accountability.

If we can help children and parents transition smoothly to their elementary school and the District of Spring Lake Park, a solid foundation will be laid upon which to construct an educational career.

A letter will be mailed to families on the Spring Lake Park Schools census around January 4, 2010. If you don’t receive information, contact the District Service Center at 763-786-5570.
