Summer Athletic Camps and Activity Workshops
A number of athletic camps/clinics  and activity workshops are offered by Spring Lake Park High School coaching  and teaching staff.   Stop in at Community Education (1415 81st Ave. NE) any weekday from 7:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. for registration forms and information or click on links as indicated.  Registration deadlines vary - see forms for exact information.  
 
Note:  ALL Camps have Early Bird Fees at reduced rates.  Registration after Early Bird Dates are accepted at the higher standard fees.  Discounts for multiple camps not available after Early Bird Dates.
 
 
 
Summer 2010 Athletic Camps
 
Panther Summer Swimming Club
for youth entering grades 7-12 (grade as of fall 2010)
Select the program that best fits your summer schedule and budget!  Register before June 1 to qualify for Early Bird Fees and discounts.
Summer Swimming Club meets from June 14-July 30, 2010 from 7:00 - 8:30 AM in the SLPHS pool
Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays:  Conditioning Only    $150 ($160 after June 1)
Tuesdays and Thursdays:  Stroke Drills Only    $100 ($110 after June 1)
Mondays through Fridays:  Both Conditioning and Stroke Drills   $225 for both ($170 after June 1)
Staffed by SLPHS varsity swim coaches Greg Kugler and Cory Emil - fee includes Club T-shirt
 
 
Panther Summer 2010 Football Mini-Camp
for football players entering grades 9-12 (fall 2010)
A 12-day padded mini-camp running the last week of school and six Tuesdays in June and July, plus two scrimmages.  Position coaches will take players out at various time during summer weight-training for mini-sessions.  All phases of the game will be covered.  Coached by Varsity Head Coach Jeff Schlieff and staff
When:  June 2, 3, 7, 8, 9 after school from 3:00-4:45 PM and every Tuesday from June 22-July 29 from 7:15-8:15 AM (NO practice on Tuesday, July 6)
Scrimmage with Forest Lake on June 20 at 9:00 AM
Scrimmage with Coon Rapids on July 20 at 10:30 AM
Where:  Meet on the SLPHS practice field and Panther Stadium
Fee:  $30
 
 
Panther Strength & Speed 2010
Summer training for athletes entering grades 7-12
The Spring Lake Park High School weight room staff holds a seven-week summer program for all athletes desiring to improve individual strength, speed, explosiveness, flexibility, coordination, and quickness.  Students completing 45 hours in this program will receive a Phy.Ed. elective credit from the High School Summer School program. 
 
Register by June 11 to qualify for the Early Bird reduced rate of $25.  After June 11, registration is $35. 
 
Work-out days are Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, June 21- August 6. 
Students can lift at any of the following sessions to fit into individual schedules:
   8:00-9:45 AM     More Advanced Lifters
   9:00-10:30 AM   Incoming grades 9-10
  10:00-11:30 AM  FEMALES ONLY SESSION
  11:00-12:15 PM  Grades 7 & 8 and anyone else
   6:00-7:45 PM    Open Session - all grades (ends 7/30)

Panther Tennis Camps 2010
for boys and girls entering grades 1-12
Designed to develop strokes, fundamental skills and strategies.  For players of all ages and skill levels.  Choose your camp based on both your grade AND experience or ability.  Register by Early Bird Dates for lower camp rates - $10 higher for each camp after Early Bird Dates. Coached by SLPHS Varsity Coach Mark Fierst.  Camps meet on the Spring Lake Park High School Tennis Courts on 81st Ave.
 
Beginners (grades 1-6)  Session 1  Monday-Thursday, July 12-July 15, 6-7 PM  $40
                                         Session 2  Monday-Thursday, Aug 2-Aug 5, 6-7 PM      $40
        Students registered for BOTH sessions will receive a camp T-shirt  -  Register by July 1 - $10 higher after 7/1
 
Intermediate (grades 5-8 )  8-9:30 AM    $75 for 10 of 20 sessions or $120 for all 20 sessions
Advanced (grades 7-12)     10 AM -Noon   $90 for 10 of 20 session or $150 for all 20 sessions
 
Both Intermediate and Advanced Camps will meet on the following days - check schedule carefully - different days each week.  Campers may choose to attend either any 10 of the 20 sessions or all 20 sessions.

Panther Girls Basketball Camp 2010
for girls entering grades 2-9 (grade as of fall 2010)
A fun, energetic camp focusing on defense and offense skills and strategy, shooting, ball-handling, and most round-ball fundamentals.  Lead by coach Lori Thompson and members of HS coaching staff and varsity team.  Includes camp T-shirt  -  held at SLPHS Panther Gym and auxiliary gyms

Panther Volleyball Camps 2010
for girls entering grades 4-12 (grades as of fall 2010)
Three different camps for different age-levels coached by SLPHS varsity coaching staff and some varsity players

Varsity Volleyball Camp - entering grades 10-12
July 26-29, 8:00 AM-Noon,  $60 Early Bird Fee ($70 after July 19)

Youth Volleyball Mini-Camp - entering grades 4-6

Panther Fastpitch Softball Camp 2010
for girls entering grades 2-10
Designed to develop and enhance basic softball skills through drills and games.  Choose appropriate camp by grade student is entering in fall 2010.  All campers receive a T-shirt - camp meets on the SLP High School Softball Diamonds located across 81st Ave. between Polk and Taylor Streets.  Staffed by Varsity head coach Lori Lightbody, assistants, and former/current players.
Each camp $65 before June 4, $75 after June 4

  grades 6-8  Monday-Thursday June 14-17, 12:30-2:45 PM

Panther Football Camp 2010
for students entering grades 1-10
24th annual Panther Football Camp directed by SLPHS Varsity Head Coach Jeff Schieff, assistants, varsity players, and former players now in college
Learn the basics, polish skills, concentrate on offensive and defensive positions, specialty team techniques, make some friends, and have fun!  Camp registration fee includes a Panther Football Camp T-shirt.  Campers wil divide into age groups for technique instruction.
 
August 2-5, 6:00-8:00 PM, at Panther Stadium and practice fields
